These people were very hard workers. They are not like most of the people who work now. They used to be completely dedicated to their jobs. They would get injured, but they'd keep going just for the benifit of their family. Such as Chris Thorsten; and iron worker. He was squeesed between a crane and his collar bone broke along with all the ribs in his body and the three vertebre. He couldn't work for four years, imagine that. Being in the depression and having abosolutely nothing just because you got injured. You can't support your family at all. Then there's Mr. Garavelli, a stone cutter who faces products that usually kill people. Housemaids etc. that work for the rich people work as their maid, cook, servant, nurse, and anything else they would need. Then again they barely get paid at all. It was obviously a struggle to live during the depression, but as shown some people actually know how to handle it.
